About the Series

What is the Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series?

The Cal Ripken World Series is Babe Ruth League, Inc.'s premier youth tournament — a national championship for 12U teams playing on the Major/70 (70-foot bases, 50-foot mound) format. Regional and state champions from across the United States qualify through Babe Ruth League's tournament tree to reach Branson.

Ballparks of America has been the official host venue for the Major/70 World Series since 2017. Teams sleep in our Team Suites, eat on our campus, and play under the lights of the same five replica MLB fields that summer-tournament teams play on.

Official host venue

Babe Ruth League selected Ballparks of America as the home of the Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series — the first permanent destination venue for the event.

National Field

Teams from coast to coast

State and regional qualifiers travel from across the country. Some years bring international qualifiers as well.

10-Year Vision

15 fields. 120 suites.

Hosting Cal Ripken is the cornerstone of BPoA's long-term vision — to build out additional fields and lodging that match the demand the World Series attracts.

How to Qualify

Qualification runs through Babe Ruth League.

Cal Ripken World Series teams qualify by winning their state and regional tournaments inside the Babe Ruth League tournament tree. Ballparks of America does not register teams directly for the World Series — qualification happens through your local Babe Ruth League charter.

  1. Register your team in your local Babe Ruth League charter for the season.
  2. Win your state tournament.
  3. Win your regional tournament.
  4. Travel to Branson — Ballparks of America hosts the World Series.
