The Tradition · August 28–30, 2026

Three days. One field. Two generations.

The Tradition is the most personal weekend on the Ballparks calendar. Dads put on the uniform, sons put on the uniform, and they take the same five fields under the same lights. Some teams have been showing up for years — and the fathers are now the sons who first played here.

It's not really a tournament. It's a permission slip to spend three uninterrupted days with your kid playing the game you both love. The schedule is built around it: short windows between games, family-style dinners, and a Saturday-night ceremony that anyone who's been will tell you is the part they remember most.

"You can buy a vacation. You can't buy a memory of standing on the same dirt as your son under stadium lights. That's why The Tradition exists."

What to Expect

The format.

3-Day Format

Friday → Sunday

Friday check-in, opening ceremony and first games under the lights. Saturday and Sunday pool play and bracket. Championship Sunday afternoon.

Age Range

9U through 15U

The Tradition is open to a wider age range than summer events. Brothers, cousins and friends end up on the same roster every year.

All-Inclusive

Stay, eat, play included

Same Team Suites, same on-campus meals, same custom jerseys, same opening ceremony. Built so families can lean in to the weekend.

Why It Matters

This weekend is why the campus exists.

Before there were 11 summer tournaments, there was a fall father-son weekend. Three dads in 2016 wanted to give their kids one perfect weekend on a field built like the show. The Tradition was the prototype — every Memorial Day Classic, Summer Kickoff, Cal Ripken World Series came after.

Saturday night, after the lights dim on the last game, families gather on the infield. There's a slideshow. Some of it's their kids. Some of it's the dads when they were the kids. There isn't a dry eye in the place.

Brand Heritage

The fall tournaments that built BPoA's identity.

Before The Tradition was the marquee event, BPoA hosted a constellation of themed fall tournaments — many of which we're working to bring back as legacy events. Here's the lineage.

Faith · Flag · Family Classic
Legacy Event

Faith · Flag · Family Classic

A patriotic faith-and-family fall weekend hosting 11U–14U teams. Themed opening ceremonies, military-family discounts, Sunday morning service on the infield. The blueprint for how BPoA builds tournament identity around story, not just baseball.

Bombs For a Cure
Legacy Event

Bombs For a Cure

A charity Home Run Derby tournament benefiting youth-athlete cancer initiatives. Teams competed for the leaderboard while families pledged per-bomb donations. One of BPoA's most-beloved fall traditions and a model for community-first event design.

Battle for the Bling
Legacy Event

Battle for the Bling

A high-stakes single-elimination fall championship — winners take customized "Bling" rings designed each year for the champion roster. The fall counterweight to the summer trophy: smaller field, bigger prize, a ring kids still wear years later.

Diamond Queens Fastpitch
Legacy Event

Diamond Queens Fastpitch

BPoA's softball weekend — 12U–16U fastpitch divisions, coordinated with USA Softball Missouri. Same five fields, same lights, same all-inclusive package. Proof that the campus model works for the girls' game just as well.
